I'm happy today to announce to launch of a brand new app, Phish Tabs. I've been working on this for a few weeks, and it's really been a fun app for me. Phish is by far my favorite band, and aside from programming, playing guitar is my favorite pastime, so this app is the intersection of a lot of things I love.
Phish Tabs pulls guitar tablature data from EmilsTabs.org, which is a fantastic repository of fan-transcribed tabs (to which I've personally contributed). A recent change to that website's structure ended up with the tab files being stored as plain text, which gave me the idea for the application. The Phish Tabs app provides a functional and user-friendly front-end to the data, as opposed to EmilsTabs' very barebones approach.
Whether you're a fan of the music, or just are interested in learning some interesting new songs, Phish Tabs is a...

A new update to QuickChange has just been released, and it's a big one! Version 3.5 introduces a complete user-interface overhaul, under-the-hood improvements and bugfixes, and even an in-app purchase, but I'll get into that in a minute.
First off, the UI overhaul. This is the second major UI redo in QuickChange's history. QuickChange was the first app I ever wrote, and so it's pretty fun to watch how it's evolved over the years. This time around I went head-first into Holo, which is Google's name for the modern Android look. I followed the Google design patterns as closely as I could, giving the app a cleaner and more typographic look.
Secondly, there are the under-the-hood changes. Given that QuickChange is the first app I ever wrote, a lot of the original code from 2010 is still lurking around. I gave the app a once-over, removing redundant blocks and fixing...

Hello there! My name is Nick, and I'm the developer of Lionfish Apps. I'm also the developer of this website, which I've been working on for several months, and I'm very proud to finally get to launch it.
My goals in creating this website derived from the shortcomings of the previous version of the site. The old site was inflexible, as everything was hard-coded into the pages. The new website is completely database driven. Adding an app, or updating information about an existing app, will be incredibly straightforward for me. I update my apps fairly often, so this system will allow me to make sure that the website stays in lock-step with the apps themselves.
Another problem with the old site was its lack of user interaction. It had a Facebook page stream on its home page, as a stopgap measure for social interaction. The blog system on the new site will...
